Duck Race 2010

Thousands of ducks will be racing along the River Severn at the Lenchford Inn at Shrawley, Worcestershire (WR6 6TB) on Monday 5th April 2010 to raise money for Feed The Children (UK). The children’s charity is inviting people to join in the Duck Race at 3pm on Easter Monday by sponsoring a duck for just £2 to support the charity and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.

The fabulous prizes up for grabs include a 40 inch plasma TV, a weekend away, a day out at Worcester Races, a spa day, giant Easter egg hamper and a crate of wine.

For a lovely day out for all the family and to be in with a chance of winning the Duck Race, come along at Noon where there will be a pig roast and refreshment tent, face painting and a cake stall. Make an Easter bonnet and take part in the parade. Join in the fun of the Easter egg hunt and have a dance at the Easter disco before the Duck Race kicks off at 3pm.

Regional fundraising manager Joy Cartwright said, “We hope that we can make the event as successful as last year’s when we raised almost £6,000 for Feed The Children.  Around 800 people came along and everyone had such a lovely day.”

Duck Race tickets can be picked up at the Lenchford Inn prior to the race or you can ring Dave Taylor on 01905 620229 or Joy on 07984 631947 for more details.

Joy said, “We’ll be out and about in Worcestershire over the next four weeks at local garden centres and shops so if you see us do pick up a Duck Race ticket from us.  Please stop and say hello and support our Duck Race, you’ll be supporting a great cause.”
