FEED THE CHILDREN OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Worldwide football coach, 23-year-old Sarah Banfill, from Clifton, is looking to score goals galore for her new winning team at Feed The Children UK in Bristol. Sarah’s first goal has been to re-open the office in Stokes Croft, Bristol, which had been closed for a year due to staff illness. Her main responsibilities are to run the charity’s Club AM breakfast clubs, 8 of which are in Bristol schools, and to support to field fundraisers.
“I look forward to meeting all Feed The Children’s friends and supporters in the Bristol area. Already I have had lots of visits from volunteers as word has got round that I am here,” says Sarah, who has coached English football to teams from New York to Toronto.
“It is great that our friends and supporters in the Bristol area will once again be able to call in to make donations of money and goods now that Sarah is on board,” says Feed The Children’s CEO, Brian Main.
Feed The Children has made some considerable growth in the past three years. Sarah is looking forward to re-establishing contacts in Bristol and developing new links in the area. She will also be looking out for volunteers to help with essential tasks, such as office administration or staffing fundraising events.
The office will be open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1pm, and 2pm to 5pm. However, this is subject to staffing levels, and visitors may wish to call 0117 923 2300 in advance, to make sure there is someone there to greet them.
Feed The Children CEO Brian Main commented, "We are still looking forward to the return of Sarah Connabeer to work, but we're very pleased to welcome Sarah Banfill. Over the years, we have dispatched many tonnes of emergency aid, such as food, blankets, clothing and toiletries to disaster areas and our regular programmes in Uganda, Pakistan, Angola and Liberia. Much of that aid was contributed by our generous supporters in the Bristol area. With Sarah's help, and with the continuing generosity of our Bristol friends, we can do even more to help the vulnerable children who depend on us."

Having attended West of England University Sarah decided to stay in the West Country. One of Sarah’s tasks at Feed The Children will be to help promote the charity’s 9 Peak’s Challenge in Snowdonia and other fundraising challenges. Sarah practices what she preaches as she has made numerous parachute jumps, loves to ski, has coached English football to teams from New York to Toronto and cycles to work every day.
Feed The Children works worldwide, as well as within the UK, to develop sustainable communities and provide food and other necessities for those in great need. The charity concentrates aid on children suffering the effects of poverty, especially those who have been orphaned or abandoned. The charity believes that wherever there is famine, conflict, disease or poverty, it is always the children who are most vulnerable.
