Afghanistan

Feed The Children's association with Afghanistan goes back many years:

In 2002, we supplied aid and set up bakeries for some of the many thousands of Afghan people who had fled from the conflict, and were living in temporary camps.

In 2007, we are working with the Royal Marines as part of their 'Hearts and Minds' efforts to supply clothing and sleeping bags to families in the sensitive Helmand Province.  The troops on the ground have face to face contact with the local people, and so can see precisely what their needs are.

Night temperatures in Afghanistan's winter are bitterly cold, and the simple provision of blankets and warm clothing can save lives - and support the efforts of our peace-keeping forces at the same time.
