Aid to Afghanistan

We are delighted that recently, we sent three pallets of aid to the sensitive Helmand  Province of Afghanistan. The conflict in the region between the Afghan government and Taleban forces has featured on the news this week.

Afghan winters are bitterly cold, and the local population are in need of support; but the area is too dangerous to send aid workers into.

We are delighted to be working with HM Royal Marines, who will be delivering sleeping bags and warm knitted clothing to families in Helmand Province.

Thanks to our knitting supporters, who have provided children's jumpers, hats, scarves and mittens, Afghan children will be a little warmer.

At the same time, the 'Hearts and Minds' initiative of HM Royal Marines to build relationships with communities in the region will be assisted.
